Rovin' Net Referral Program Anti-Spam Policy
This document makes use of the term "spam". The use of that term is as a common slang for the sending of unsolicited email messages, or off-topic usenet postings. Use of the term "spam" in this document should not be confused with the Hormel product marketed under the trade name "Spam".
Rovin' Net strictly prohibits its members from using spam and other forms of Internet abuse to seek referrals. Spam is defined as including, but not limited to, the following:
Electronic mail messages addressed to any recipient with whom the initiator does not have an existing business or personal relationship or is not sent at the request of, or with the express consent of, the recipient; Messages posted to Usenet and message boards that are off-topic (unrelated to the topic of discussion), cross-posted to unrelated newsgroups, or posted in excessive volume; Solicitations posted to chat rooms, or to groups or individuals via Internet Relay Chat or "Instant Messaging" system (such as ICQ); Certain off-line activities that, while not considered spam, are similar in nature, including distributing flyers or leaflets on private property or where prohibited by applicable rules, regulations, or laws. Rovin' Net may undertake, at its sole discretion and with or without prior notice, the following enforcement actions:
Account Termination: Upon the receipt of a credible complaint, Rovin' Net may immediately suspend the account of the individual implicated in the abuse. Termination of Rovin' Net service and removal from the referral program could result if further investigation reveals that abuse was being practiced. Proof of abuse will result in the immediate closure of your Rovin' Net account, the loss of all pre-paid subscription fees, the loss of all referrals, the forfeiture of any unpaid referral money on account, and a prohibition against any future referral program membership.
Account Suspension: Upon the receipt of a credible complaint, Rovin' Net may immediately suspend the membership of the individual implicated in the abuse. Suspension is intended to prevent the abuser from benefitting from their abusive activities by prohibiting the offender from registering referrals or receiving payments. After a thorough investigation, if the spamming incident is verified, but does not rise to the level of a terminable offense, Rovin' Net may (but is not obligated in any way to) lift the suspension.
How to Report Abuse
If you wish to report a violation of our Anti-Spam Policy, please forward all relevant evidence to: abuse@rovin.net
NOTE: Incomplete complaints will result in enforcement delays. For example, all email spam complaints must include the original email “headers.” If you do not know how to include email headers in your complaint, please visit one of the many anti-spam organization Websites to learn more about fighting email abuse.
Accounts that have been suspended or terminated for violations of our policies are listed on our Suspensions & Terminations page.
Encouraging Proper Netiquette
How Should I make referrals?
At Rovin' Net, we understand that our members are interested in responsibly promoting Rovin' Net and encouraging their friends and family to sign-up as referrals. While we are quite vigorous in enforcing our anti-spam policy, we understand that many members are not well-versed in Internet "Netiquette" and the traditions, protocols, and mores of Internet usage. To encourage our members and all Internet users to learn more about Internet Netiquette, we have assembled a Proper Netiquette page, providing numerous resources where you can learn appropriate methods of promoting your Rovin' Net referral code and how to avoid running afoul of Internet norms.
